Private Secretary of Arvind Kejriwal Sacked: In response to this most recent defeat, the AAP scolded the Lieutenant Governor and said that the BJP was attempting to destroy Arvind Kejriwal’s party.
New Delhi: Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has suffered another setback with the dismissal of his private secretary due to alleged rule violations.
The Directorate of Vigilance declared in its order that Bibhav Kumar’s services have been terminated with immediate effect and that his appointment was made in contravention of the Central Civil Service Rules pertaining to temporary appointments.
In response to this most recent loss, the AAP scolded the Lieutenant Governor and said that the BJP was attempting to destroy Mr. Kejriwal’s party.
The vigilance department noted in its order that Mr. Kumar was the subject of a police case in Noida in 2007 for allegedly assaulting a public official; the department further stated that this information was kept a secret during his tenure as the private secretary.
“This leads to administrative challenges in addition to being irregular. The ruling stated, “It is not appropriate to allow appointments in the personal staff of ministers without prior verification of character and antecedents due to the sensitivity of the work handled by the ministers.”
According to the department, “Bibhav Kumar is not clear from vigilance angle” because of the serious nature of the charges against him and the fact that the trial has reached the evidence stage.
The AAP condemned Mr. Kumar’s dismissal, with Jasmine Shah, the leader of the party, claiming that democracy is being undermined in the nation’s capital.
“In the fictitious Delhi liquor case, the chief minister of Delhi is first arrested. The LG has already begun firing every member of his staff, including the Pvt Secretary. There is no question left about the BJP’s intention to destroy the AAP. The national capital is witnessing the dismantling of democracy,” Mr. Shah declared.
Earlier this week, Mr. Kumar was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate over the liquor policy issue, which has resulted in Mr. Kejriwal’s imprisonment. On Tuesday, he also visited with the Chief Minister at Tihar.
