India-China border: In an interview with US magazine Newsweek, Prime Minister Modi stated that stable relations between China and India are crucial for the global community.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that there is a significant tie between the two nations and that the border situation between India and China needs to be resolved immediately in order to remove the “abnormality” in bilateral relationships.
In an interview with US magazine Newsweek, Prime Minister Modi stated that stable relations between China and India are crucial for the global community.
“China is an essential and vital partnership for India. “In my opinion, we must take immediate action to resolve the protracted situation at our borders in order to resolve the anomaly in our bilateral relations,” the prime minister stated.
Additionally, he anticipated that constructive engagement between the two neighbors would enable them to bring peace back to its boundaries.
“The world and the region benefit from stable and peaceful relations between China and India, not just our two nations. Speaking to the New York-based magazine, he stated, “I hope and believe that we will be able to restore and sustain peace and tranquility in our borders through positive and constructive bilateral engagement at the diplomatic and military levels.”
2020 saw a sharp decline in India-China relations following military skirmishes in the Ladakh region’s high-altitude Galwan Valley. Up to 20 Indian soldiers lost their lives in the fighting, and China suffered an undisclosed number of losses, which prompted high-level military and diplomatic negotiations.
Speaking about the India-Pakistan relationship, PM Modi mentioned how it had suffered following the 2019 Pulwama assault, which claimed the lives of 40 Indian soldiers and was linked to terrorists operating outside of Pakistan.
“I’ve congratulated Pakistan’s prime minister on assuming his position. India has consistently pushed for the advancement of wealth, stability, and peace in our area in an environment free from violence and terror,” he declared.
When asked about Imran Khan, the former prime minister of Pakistan, being imprisoned, he declined to comment on domestic affairs in the neighboring nation.
